Self-assessment is a part of the SENTINEL process.
Self-assessment implies the capability to self-assess aspects of cybersecurity, privacy and personal data protection, using automated means, without involving complicated and costly external expertise.
SENTINEL makes available three (3) self-assessment modules:
All of the above self-assessment modules evaluate the organisation data captured during the organisation profiling phase (data you have entered in the My Organisation and Data Protection Centre/Processing Activities pages). However, they may ask for additional information that pertain to each specific assessment, in the format of an online questionnaire or otherwise. They may also utilise the shared SENTINEL data domain meaning that a lot of common data points, for example processing activity-specific details, may be accessed by different self-assessment modules.
Self-assessment is an efficient means to a) gather intelligence for producing meaningful policy recommendations and b) raising cyber awareness for SME stakeholders.
